Math In Math we studied the first quadrant of the Cartesian Plane. The students learnt how to identify and mark positive coordinates on the grid. To practice this activity we drew hidden pictures using grid coordinates, as well as played battleship - which we will pick back up on Friday.  "I can identify and plot points on the Cartesian plane using whole numbers" Literacy This week students were introduced to literacy stations. Each week we will have 2 periods in which the students can tackle certain literacy tasks and challenges. They have a checklist, and can complete the tasks in any order they choose.  We also worked on the first writing assignment of the year, “Letter to My Teacher”. Students have read an example letter I wrote to them, and are now creating their own letter so I can learn a few things about them. Weekly Blog - September 16th, 2022

 This week, the students took their first crack at writing our weekly blogs!                 Literacy this week :)So this week in literacy we did a lot of different things like we finished our book Fantastic Mr fox, and we read an article about Albert Einstein. Also we started a new book called the Giver. It is about a dystopian wasteland and I think we all like it so far.  We also did literacy stations and every station so far includes grammar minutes,independent reading,spelling activity,speed syllables,weekly paragraphs and writing.  This week we started doing haiku. We have made a booklet for 7 days of haiku and later on we will learn about other types of poetry :) Letter to My Teacher was due this past Tuesday.
